Last week, we learned about how to reduce stress. I’d like to share what I learned with you.
- Exercise. Aerobic exercises lower your resting heart rate and blood pressure, so when you get stressed, your body doesn’t react as strongly and recovers quicker.
- Writing. It is unclear whether writing about our emotions provide a safe space for our emotions or help us focus or thoughts and find solutions. However, research has discovered expressive writing helps us cope with our emotions.
- Breathing Exercise. Breathing exercises helps us relieve body tension, thus reducing stress.
- Talking it Out. Having a go to person/ people to vent can help reduce stress, though it is unclear why.
- Altruism. Helping others because it makes us happy reduces stress. It makes us take our minds problems and realize other people have it worse.
- Religion. Religion helps us reduce stress too. Religion provides us with a support group to talk to (see #4) and provides us with opportunities to help people (see #5).
This website truly has all of the info I needed about
this subject and didn’t know who to ask.
